Featured in this picture are clouds which represent patterns of thought. The flecks of gold inside the clouds symbolise an active pursuit of God achieved though prayer and meditating on His word and character.

“..stop and consider God’s wonders…Do you know how the clouds hang poised, those wonders of him who has perfect knowledge?” (Job 37:14-16, NIV)

Cry of the Heart

P_Cry of the heart

This painting shows the act of praying silently and sincerely from the heart. Whether prayers of thanksgiving or prayer of petition, the father (white heart with pink outline) in heaven hears every one. “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us” (1 John 5:14)

Direct Communication

P2_Direct Communication

This painting illustrates the ability to directly communicate with God through prayer. The red and white heart represents the biblical character Job, with a white heart representing God. The sound waves in the painting capture the conversation between Job and God that were recorded by reading the dialogue aloud. The pattern of sound waves (red for Job and white for God) became part of the painting as a visual dialogue.

This picture shows the process praying for others and in various situations. The red heart with the white in the middle is the believer praying Even if the prayer is unsure of how to pray or what to pray, it is an encouraging thought that Holy Spirit intercedes for us (steps in on our behalf) to ensure of the prayer is clearly communicated to God the father who answers them all (yes, no, or not yet!). “…the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans”. (Romans 8:26).
